My name is Mónica DRamírez. I moved from Oaxaca, Mexico to the United States as a young teenager and graduated from the University at Albany, State University of New York in 2018, where I majored in Criminal Justice, and Psychology. I am a citizen of the USA who is trilingual in Copala Triqui, Spanish, and English. I have considerable professional experience in legal and medical interpretation. I also collaborate with linguists on a wide range of projects through the Albany Triqui Working Group. I am the founder of Triquis sin Fronteras UAlbany, a community group dedicated to preserving and promoting Triqui culture abroad, practicing participatory democracy, equal rights, and multiculturalism.
